Our year 2017

Dear family and friends,

Back when Julian first arrived in our lives, I was updating the blog every month.
At the time of Noah's arrival, I was updating every 3-6 months.
Now it's been a year....Time flies, but before a new year starts, I would like to send you some impressions of our 2017.

Winter 2017

We had a wonderful time on the mirror-like ice of the Wörthsee. The boys (all threeJ) discovered ice-skating and I re-discovered it. It’s fun!

Sledding down the mountain on what is a hiking trail in the summer is unforgettable fun as well. Especially when the ride is accompanied by great laughter through the snowy fairytail-woods.

The yearly conference of the dog, the strawberry, knights, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the fireman and the pirate during Fasching (the German version of carnival). Many new ideas and projects for the next year are being discussed.

During the Easter break we spent a weekend on the shores Walchensee. We spent a lot of time throwing rocks into the river, but also enjoyed hiking (well, we enjoyed it and the kids were running from one food-stop to the next).

Farewell to Opa.....

Whitsun we visited the boys’ best hairy friend, Luna, in the Allgäu. We visited her the year before on her farm where she lives with the goats Roby and Heidi, the horse, the donkey and many cows. Julian and Noah talked about Luna all year, so we have decided to visit her again this coming year.

The monkeys with the "Taugenichts", the protagonist in one of Mama's favorite books "Aus dem Leben eines Taugenichts" by Joseph von Eichendorff ("From the life of a good-for-nothing").

Mama went to Finland to support the Finnish-German relationship through a city partnership;). But besides work, there was a  lot to discover, for example that the street signs are very gender neutral compared to Germany….and that the seagulls are scary, especially if you have food in your hands...

Summer in the garden city of Gröbenzell.....

This summer we went to bella Italia and had a wonderful time there. The boys discovered shopping, but unfortunately the taste for shops differed somewhat from Mama’s. Besides exploring the old pretty cities and villages, we jumped, rode on boats, swam a lot and had lots of fun together.

....daily life....

Dressing up is still the favorite game....

And drawing...

Noah turns four - 4!

In the mountains.

We wish you a merry Christmas....

and “einen guten Rutsch in ein gesundes und glückliches neues Jahr“ - a good slide into a healthy and happy new year!
